Macy Gray

Macy Gray is an American R&B and soul singer-songwriter, musician, record producer and actress. She is known for her distinctive raspy voice, and a singing style heavily influenced by the likes of jazz singer Billie Holiday.

Her single “I Try” was one of the biggest songs of 1999 and subsequent singles “Still” and “Why Didn’t You Call Me” ensured her debut album became triple platinum in the US and quadruple platinum in the UK.

Macy Gray has collaborated with the likes of Fatboy Slim and Will.I.Am on soundtracks to films and has lent her voice to songs by other artists. She also enjoys acting, and has had small acting roles on several TV shows and in movies.
