Monkees

The Monkees were formed in 1965 when four young men were cast in a television show about a struggling rock band that was inspired by the Beatles’ A Hard Day’s Night.  The Monkees’ first single, “Last Train to Clarksville,” was released in 1966 and quickly headed for the top spot of the Billboard charts. The television series ended in 1968 and the group had a series of successful albums and singles.

As of 2018, only three original members of The Monkees remain and they regularly play together or as a duo.
