Oasis

A Britpop (rock) band formed in 1991 by Liam Gallagher, Paul Arthurs, Paul McGuigan, Tony McCarroll and Noel Gallagher. (Other band members : Alan White, Gem Archer and Andy Bell)

When they disbanded in 2009 they had sold over 70 million albums, received over 30 awards from the Brits, MTV, NME and Q. Their debut album “Definitely Maybe” was Britain’s fastest-selling album at the time and they earned a place in the Guinness Book Of Records for scoring 22 consecutive Top Ten singles. The media extensively covered their perceived rivalry with Blur.

Although the band is no longer together, some of their work has been remastered and released through their official website.

2015 saw the retail store John Lewis use a cover version of the song Half The World Away for their Christmas Advertising Campaign, performed by the Norwegian singing sensation Aurora.
